September 29th, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) Firefighters were able to capture a crocodile that had been roaming the sidewalks of Quepos on Friday afternoon.

Residents and business owners had reported that the crocodile had been seen roaming public sidewalks as well as gutters and sewers in the town for several days.

Firefighters and police were able to capture the animal shortly after 12 p.m. in front of a restaurant after being alerted by several bystanders.

Authorities from the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC) went about relocating the animal to its natural habitat in an area where it would not pose a risk to humans.
