Suspect arrested for extorting $40k from elderly man to not release sex tape

September 22nd, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) A 23-year-old man was arrested over the weekend in San Pedro de Montes de Oca for allegedly attempting to extort $40,000 from a 70-year-old man in exchange for not releasing a sex tape of the elderly man and the suspect’s mother.

 

According to the Judicial Investigation Police (OIJ), the 70-year-old man was allegedly having an affair with the suspect’s mother.  The OIJ said that the suspect’s mother recorded the sex tape without the knowledge of the elderly man.

 

According to authorities, the suspect later threatened the victim that the tape would be made public and would also be sent to the victim’s family if the suspect was not paid $40,000 USD.

 

The victim alerted authorities before delivering the funds to the suspect.  Authorities took the suspect into custody shortly after the exchange.
