September 11th, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) Police seized 9,400 sea turtle eggs from two men traveling in a vehicle in Nicoya, Guanacaste.
The seizure was made at a checkpoint after a short chase. Two suspects, identified by the last names Matarrita and Sequeira, were taken into custody.
The seizure marks one of the largest of its kind in Guanacaste.
Sea turtles and their eggs are protected under Costa Rican law.
