German man arrested at airport with 50 snakes and other animals

September 10th, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) A 31-year-old German was arrested yesterday at the Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose after officials found 50 live snakes, 10 frogs, and 20 lizards hidden in his luggage.  The man was attempting to travel to Panama, authorities said.

 

The animals were stored in plastic containers in which food was also placed.

 

The man did not have appropriate permits to export the animals, and was arrested at the scene.

 

The German could face penalties of one to three years in prison and/or stiff fines.

    This guy is a huge idiot he could have walked across the border and probably never got caught, the x-ray machines at the airport are pretty good they see anything.

    Has anyone notice going thru the airport how the x-ray machines find pretty much anything but what gets me is the cops doing the security screening like the TSA back in the USA, and this cops are looking not just for weapons but they can see money as well, this cops have a street mentality at the airport if it is less than $10,000 you do not have to declare it but sometimes they ask, if this was the street this CR cops would steal any money they find on a tourist, I recently went back to the USA and was carrying $4,000 in my laptop bag and they asked where I got the money and I told him from my saving you idiot I am a disabled veteran, thank god I was at the airport where they cannot rob me.
