August 28th, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) Good news for motorists – a reduction in the price of gasoline approved by regulator ARESEP came into effect today.
Effective today, the price of super gasoline falls from ¢810 per liter to ¢774, while regular gasoline drops from ¢782 per liter to ¢752.
The cost of diesel fuel, however, dropped just ¢1 per liter.
The National Oil Refinery (RECOPE) and ARESEP said the price reductions are primarily the result of international petroleum prices, in addition to a favorable dollar exchange rate.
Fuel prices had reached a record high in July.
