Tamarindo Airport Remains Closed with Flights Being Rerouted to Liberia
Tamarindo airport remains closed after it was shut down in May of this year due to runway safety concerns. Initially, the Hotel Diria Beach Resort Group gave June 30th, 2014 as a re-opening date, but it remains closed. Nature Air and Sansa flights continue to be re-routed to Liberia’s Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport.
Despite requests, representatives from the Tamarindo Airport were unavailable for comment.
On July 28th 2014, CRHoy.com reported that government officials visited Reserva Conchal to inspect a piece of property that could be used as an alternative landing strip for the area. No official word on the outcome of the visit was reported.
Que Pasa Club Tamarindo Movie Nights at Dragonfly
Every Sunday at Dragonfly Restaurant, residents and tourists can now gather to enjoy movie nights complete with popcorn and other refreshments. June 25th marked the inaugural Que Pasa Club Tamarindo Movie Night. Each week a double feature is presented, beginning with a family feature at 6:00 pm and a main feature at 8:30 pm.
This coming Sunday August 17th will be a Robin Williams Tribute Night, with Robots as the family feature at 6 pm and Man of the Year as the main feature at 8:30 pm.
The cost of admission is 2000 colones. A bag of popcorn is 500 colones. Drinks at regular Dragonfly prices.
Dragonfly is located on the road behind Hotel Pasatiempo, just before Bolas Locas mini golf.
