Some relief in gasoline prices might be coming soon

August 7th, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) The price of both super and regular gasoline could drop by as much as ¢30 per liter in September, according to the Costa Rican Oil Refinery (RECOPE).

 

RECOPE announced that it made the request for the price reduction to regulator ARESEP this week.  While ARESEP is ultimately responsible for setting prices, the regulator bases its decision in large part on the recommendations of RECOPE.

 

RECOPE said the move comes after a reduction in the price of gasoline on the international market.

 

ARESEP’s decision on the reduction is expected tomorrow.

 

If approved, super gasoline will drop in price from ¢810/liter to ¢780, and regular will drop from ¢782/liter to ¢752.
