May 28th, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) The latest round of gasoline and diesel price hikes will go into effect at midnight tonight, the third such increase during the month of May.
Super gasoline will increase ¢8 from ¢778 to ¢786 per liter; regular (‘plus’) will increase by ¢4 from ¢756 to ¢760 per liter; and diesel will increase by ¢12 from ¢677 to ¢689 per liter.
Regulators are blaming a weakened colon exchange rate for the hikes. Fuel prices were already at an all-time high prior to the most recent increase.
