May 9th, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) Vice President of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza offered yesterday his country’s broad support for the government of Luis Guillermo Solís.
“Together with the new government, we want to strengthen social, cultural, scientific and economic relations,” Arreaza said upon his arrival in the country yesterday for the inauguration of Solís, Costa Rica’s 47th president.
“We offer all the support of Venezuela for anything [the Solís government] needs. Our energy, our social missions, and our ability to cooperate in any field. Whatever Costa Rica needs,” Arreaza said, and urged for the “integration and unity of our people.”
Arreaza noted that Costa Rica this year chairs the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), a forum whose creation was driven by the late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
