March 10th, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale according to OVSICORI struck 14 kilometers west of Chomes, Puntarenas in the Gulf of Nicoya at 12:01 p.m. local time.
Shaking was reported in several areas throughout the country, some describing the quake as a short, but strong “jolt,” while others reported significant shaking.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
