February 2nd, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) A reporter for a French international news agency was locked in a bathroom and assaulted as Broad Front presidential candidate, Jose Maria Villalta cast his vote at José Figueres Ferrer School in San José, according to reports from local news web site, CRHoy.com.
After the incident, the reporter approached the presidential hopeful with tears in her eyes and told him what had just happened, according to the report.
“I was just robbed, some guys dressed as police put me in one of the bathrooms and stole my computer while [Villalta] voted,” said Magaly Madrigal, a reporter for a French news agency.
“It is outrageous that someone would take advantage of the election to commit these criminal acts. The police should do something about it,” she said.
