Suspect steals police vehicle while officers tend to a fight

December 16^th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) A suspect stole a police vehicle in the early morning hours of Saturday in downtown Puntarenas as officers were distracted while attempting to break up a fight.

Officers were able to intercept the suspect several meters away after he collided with a parked vehicle.  The police vehicle was a Toyota Land Cruiser.  The incident took place around 4:00 a.m.

The man was given a Breathalyzer test that determined he had been drinking, but was not legally drunk.
