American and Costa Rican arrested for hydroponic marijuana operation

December 9th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) A 47-year-old U.S. citizen identified by the last name Edward and a 22-year-old Costa Rican identified by the last name of Padilla were arrested for operating a hydroponic marijuana operation on a farm in Tierras Morenas de Baru in Perez Zeledon.

 

The Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) reported that agents seized 180 plants and three kilos of marijuana at the location.

 

The two men were initially arrested on Wednesday while traveling in an SUV in Dominical beach.

 

On Friday, the OIJ raided the farm of the suspects, where a home and two greenhouses were located, containing 180 marijuana plants.  Three kilos of marijuana were also discovered in a refrigerator at the property.

    Note to OIJ: Please release those sweet buds onto the streets of San Jose! But nowhere near the Del Rey. Those thiefs will sell try to sell it to me for $30/gram and we all know that what they call grams are really 1/3 to 1/2 grams. Long story shorter (i’m pretty baked): the weed in this country generally sucks! I’m considering going back to the states and getting my medical marijuana card. I’m perfectly healthy, but I qualify for it based on the anxiety i suffer because of the lack of decent weed in SJ.
