November 13th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) Healthcare workers at the public Calderon Guardia Hospital suspended a strike yesterday afternoon that began on Monday.
The workers were protesting a decision by the Social Security System (CCSS) to temporarily appoint Dr. Tatian Lemos as administrator of the hospital.
The decision to suspend the strike came only hours after the staff said in a statement that the work stoppage would last “indefinitely.”
Hospital authorities were hopeful that operations would return to normal quickly.
