October 9th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) Violence broke out at Liberia’s prison around 6:30 p.m. yesterday, when some 300 prisoners attempted a revolt.
The incident apparently occurred after what started as a peaceful hunger strike.
Prison officials were forced to call in assistance from the Fuerza Publica to control the situation.
As of last evening, authorities described the situation as ongoing but under control.
