September 30th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) opened bidding on Friday to repair the damaged section of the Circunvalación, a major beltway around the capital city of San José where a group of Bailey bridges had to be removed earlier this month as they were in danger of collapse. The ensuing closure has caused traffic chaos in the capital city ever since, so much so that the working hours of public employees have been modified in an attempt to ease congestion.
Among Costa Rican companies participating in the big are Codocsa, Meco, Hernan Solis and Sanchez Carjaval. Also bidding is an Italian firm with offices in Panama, and one Mexican firm.
