Authorities find 27 kilos of cocaine in cardboard box in middle of airport

September 25th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) A simple cardboard box in plain sight in the middle of the shipping and receiving area of San José’s airport caught the attention of officers of the Drug Control Police (PCD), who upon opening the box discovered 27 kilograms of cocaine.

 

The cocaine was individually wrapped in 24 packages covered in duct tape, causing authorities to first fear the box was filled with explosives.

 

Authorities are investigating the case.
