Costa Rica to Miami flight makes emergency landing; smoke in cabin
September 19th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) An American Airlines flight flying from Costa Rica to Miami has made an emergency landing on the nearby island of San Andres, Colombia, according to Caracol TV, which cited civil aviation authorities.
The plane’s pilot detoured and landed on the island after smoke began filling the cabin. According to Caracol, none of the 170 passengers on board were injured.
The flight number has not yet been reported.
UPDATE 1: Costa Rica’s Teletica Channel 7 is reporting that the flight departed Costa Rica at 7 A.M.
