September 16th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) A total of 14 fugitives from justice were arrested by police during the traditional lantern parades celebrating the country’s independence over the weekend.
The arrests include 13 men and one woman, who have pending criminal cases including aggravated robbery, sexual abuse of a minor, unlawful possession of a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon, embezzlement, reckless driving, and murder, amongst other charges.
The woman was wanted for smuggling drugs into a penal institution.
The arrests were made in San José, Cartago, Heredia, Guanacaste, Puntarenas and Limon.
