September 12th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) A group of tourists who were swimming near the mouth of the Nosara River in Guanacaste found a decomposing body of a man in the water yesterday around 3 p.m.
Tourist police officers and the Red Cross responded to the scene and removed the body from the water, which had some visible injuries that the first responders believed might have been caused by the corpse hitting rocks as it traveled down the river.
Locals said they did not recognize the body.
Agents of the Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) retrieved the corpse and will conduct an autopsy.
