Communication Minister says no day off despite World Cup berth

September 11th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) Public employees will not receive the day off today despite securing a bid in the 2014 World Cup, as previously reported.

 

Communications Minister, Carlos Roverssi, said the government never completely confirmed the plan, despite the fact that President Laura Chinchilla had indicated the possibility.

 

The confusion over the possibility of a day off for public employees today as a result of Costa Rica’s World Cup berth led some government institutions to announce that they would not provide certain services today, including the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT).
