Man dies after shootout with police, second suspect escapes with assistance from mob

September 9th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) A suspected robber was killed after a shootout with police last night in Limon.

 

The man was allegedly one of two robbers who assaulted a clerk at Super Grande in San Isidro de La Alegría.

 

Once outside, the men fled in an Isuzu Trooper.  Police officers were able to intercept the men about 10 miles later, when a firefight erupted between the suspects and police.

 

The dead man’s accomplice was arrested by officers but later escaped police custody with the assistance of a mob that had formed at the scene.

    Reported to have 800 police officers in San Jose for crowd control on Friday night game. President Chinchilla would be a smart thing to have a few hundred elsewhere like Limon , Beaches and protect the turtle and their eggs.
