Caller demands $5 million or says bomb will explode in Central Bank today

September 9th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) A woman with a Colombian accent called 911 and threatened that a bomb located in Costa Rica’s Central Bank would explode today if authorities do not make a payment of $5 million in cash.

According to police, the caller did not identify herself nor indicate where the alleged explosive was placed.

Authorities are taking security measures at the bank, but believe the call may be a prank.

Making such a threat is a crime, and authorities said they are attempting to determine those responsible.
