Central American Freemasons to meet in San José this week

September 4th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) Costa Rica will host the 46th meeting of the Central American Masonic Confederation (COMACA) from Thursday to Saturday.

 

Representatives said that Masons would discuss the values of equality, fraternity and liberty with the goal of sharing and contributing ideas to improve the quality of life for their own families and society as a whole.

 

Representatives said that “lodges” or groups of Masons meet regularly by region.   In Central America and Costa Rica, the Freemasons have been active since 1857.

 

The group would not disclose the number of active Masons in Costa Rica, adding that it has no intentions of recruiting.

 

Freemasonry has been the subject of hundreds of conspiracy theories, with some believers alleging the organization to have “infiltrated” world governments and plotting a “new world order.”
