September 3rd, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) An increase in gasoline and diesel prices which was announced by the Regulatory Authority for Public Services (ARESEP) on August 29th will go into effect tomorrow.
ARESEP’s Carolina Mora said that premium gasoline will increase by ¢ 17 per liter (about $0.13 per gallon), regular (“plus”) gasoline will increase by ¢ 21 per liter (about $0.16 per gallon), and diesel will increase by ¢ 10 per liter (about $0.075 per gallon).
With the adjustments, the price of super gasoline will increase from ¢ 738 to ¢ 755 per liter (about $5.72/gallon), regular gasoline will increase from ¢ 708 to ¢ 739 per liter (about $5.60/gallon), and diesel will increase from ¢ 623 to ¢ 633 per liter (about $4.80/gallon).
Taxi fares will also increase by ¢ 10 per kilometer, both for the initial kilometer and the entire trip.
