September 3rd, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) Former Vice President of Costa Rica, José Miguel Alfaro Rodriguez lost a long battle with cancer yesterday morning. He was 73 years of age.
The former vice president, who served under President Rodrigo Carazo Odio from 1978 until 1982, had been fighting pancreatic cancer.
Rodriguez was known as a strong promoter of regional integration and was a professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Costa Rica.
His funeral will be held today at 10 a.m. at the Church of Don Bosco.
