Three transit police officers arrested after taking bribe from drunk driver

August 22nd, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) Three transit police officers have been arrested and are charged with having accepted a bribe from a license-less drunk driver who crashed into a tree in front of a school in Desamparados.

The three transit officers, identified by the last names Alvarado, Ledezma and Mena, apparently negotiated with the family of the drunk driver after they arrived at the scene.

Allegedly, the officers arranged a bribe of ¢ 80,000 (about $160) with the wife and son of the driver and later released the man – who also did not have a drivers license – without issuing citations.  The officers also released the vehicle back to the drunk driver.

Perfect, after all T-I-C-R. Do you know if the unlicensed driver will be prosecuted, or only the traffic officers? There are between 7000-8000 traffic accidents each month. Homicides are up 8% in the first 6 months of 2013.

To be considered drunk you need to be at least 1.1 , what is considered drunk here is just stupid.
Homicides will only go down when the citizens are trained and armed. If you shoot a criminal you should get 25% what it would cost to jail him.If you want to find real criminals look at Donna Chi wawa and Congress.

      huh? 1.1 what?

Does anyone but me see the irony here? First thing these transit officers will get a 3 month vacation with pay. Then back on their job, most likely.

Secondly, The head security from OIJ crashes into cars in Escazu awhile back Blind DRUNK. He keeps his license, Car and Job. Goes before his cronies the judges. Does a little I so sorry. However I have alternative punishment of paying a small fine and giving a few speeches. And nothing about him going for treatment.

Just get a grip on life here of different class of and those connected of punishment and alternative punishment.
