Armed thugs stick up churchgoers during service
August 21st, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) Churchgoers worshipping during the Holy Hour were surprised by two armed thugs during service at a church in Barrio San Cayetano in San José.
The two suspects entered the church and sat amongst a group of elderly women in a pew, where at first they pretended to join in prayer.
However, their intentions shortly became clear when the men brandished a firearm and began to rob churchgoers of valuables, including cellular phones and cash.
The suspects were able to escape but their images were captured on a surveillance camera.
The Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) is investigating.
