More than 500,000 went without water over the weekend

August 12th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) If you were without water over the weekend, you were not alone – some 550,000 residents in 9 cantons went without water service over the weekend.

 

The outage was caused by work being performed by the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) at AyA’s Rio Macho production center.

 

The outage affected residents in various parts of San José, Heredia, La Union, Curridabat, Desamparados, Montes de Oca, Goicoechea, Moravia, Coronado, Ciudad Colon, and Cartago on both Saturday and Sunday.

 

It is expected that service will be fully restored this morning.

    The water company down here is doing a terrible job. their planning appears to be non existent The only thing that saves them from public outrage is the fact that they have been “terrible” for generations and folks here think this is ‘normal”..
