August 9th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) Interpol Costa Rica and the computer crimes unit of the Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) conducted six raids this morning as part of on operation to dismantle an international child pornography network.
In one of the raids, agents raided the home of a 55-year-old commercial pilot, identified by the last names Loría Pereira in Rio Segundo in Alajuela.
Other raids took place in Paso Ancho, San Francisco de Dos Rios, Guápiles and Limon.
So far, five suspects have been detained in the raids in Costa Rica. It is believed the network sold child pornography via the Internet.
Simultaneous raids were conducted in Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay, Argentina and Spain.
