Car thieves engage in firefight with police at Calderon Guardia Hospital
August 7th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) A group of car thieves caused a scare at the Calderon Guardia Hospital yesterday.
The suspects allegedly stole a vehicle in the vicinity of Barrio Escalante. Later, realizing that a police vehicle was following them, the suspects began to exchange gunfire with the pursuing officers.
The chase ended at the old emergency room entrance of the Calderon Guardia Hospital, where the suspects abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.
The suspects were arrested minutes later. Officers seized a firearm and suspected stolen property.
