June 26th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) Water service will be disrupted in several San José communities from 6 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. today.
The outage will take place in Escazu, Alajuelita, and Desamparados, leaving about 139,000 people without water, according to a statement from the Institute for Aqueducts and Sewers (AyA).
Among the communities affected are Escazu, Guachipelín, Bello Horizonte, Alto de las Palomas, Calle Pilas, Corazón de Jesús, Vista de Oro, Calle Cochea, calle Nueva, calle El Mango, M.ª Auxiliadora, calle El Alto, Ranchitico, Esquipulas, La Paz 86, Tejarcillos, El Tejar, and several other communities.
AyA officials said the outage is caused due to an electrical outage at a re-pumping station. The electrical outage is caused by the National Power and Light Company (CNFL), which is performing preventive maintenance.
