May 23rd, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) The National Meteorological Institute (IMN) is forecasting thunderstorm activity in the Central Valley beginning this afternoon, with the risk of dangerous lightening and possible flash flooding near rivers and streams.
IMN is recommending residents to keep a watchful eye on rivers, streams, and city storm sewers for possible flash floods. IMN also recommends residents avoid open areas in the presence of lightening, and is also warning motorists to be on the lookout for possible landslides and slippery road surfaces.
