Teacher arrested for “teaching porn” in class

May 22^nd, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) A teacher at the La Guaria de Puerto Viejo Elementary School in Sarapiqui has been arrested by agents of the Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) for allegedly “giving lessons” to his students on how to watch pornography online.

The arrest came at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office after several complaints were filed.  The 44-year-old teacher, identified by the last name of Rodriguez, was arrested on charges of aggravated corruption.

According to complaints filed by parents, the teacher recommended pornographic web pages, showed students how to access them, and instructed the children which pornographic videos to watch.

The teacher is also being investigated for the abuse of fourth-grade students, who claim that Rodriguez repeatedly touched them inappropriately.

Upon making the arrest, agents seized a computer and thumb drives.

Officials are urging parents who believe their children may have been victimized by Rodriguez to come forward so that the man may face the full force of the law.
