Crash between train, vehicle causing delays this morning

May 22nd, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) A van and a train from Cartago collided at 5:30 this morning in the area of Cipreses de Curridabat, causing a delay in the Cartago-San Jose train service.

 

Officials said earlier this morning that crews were working to restore train service as soon as possible, and that crews should have the vehicle removed from the track shortly.

 

The driver of the van suffered as-yet unspecified injuries, and was transported to a medical center.

    I believe that Incofer will need to budget for the installation of level crossing gates and warning lights, or this problem of accidents between trains and vehicles will continue.

      Never happen. IF crossing gates were put up Ha they be gone in a flash! Sold for scrap. Example the manhole covers and live wire stolen everyday . Then you would need 24/7 guards to make sure they are not removed by the thieves here.
