Canadian, others arrested for operating hydroponic marijuana operation
May 15th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) A couple, identified by the last names of West, 35 and Tejada, 34 respectively, as well as a Canadian man are in police custody after authorities raided a hydroponic marijuana operation on a 3 hectare property in San Gerardo de Rivas in Perez Zeledon.
The Canadian man was identified by the last name of Russet and is 40 years of age.
Authorities began investigating the operation in December, after receiving confidential information about suspicious activity at the location.
Authorities seized equipment used in the growing operation, several 4×4 vehicles, ATVs, and marijuana, amongst other evidence.
According to reports, two minor children who were not attending school also lived with the couple.
