May 10th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) Despite constant cuts in water service as the Public Service Company of Heredia (ESPH) attempts to ration the water supply, Heredia residents could see a 27% increase in their water bills beginning in June.
ESPH has submitted a request before the Public Utility Regulatory Authority (ARESEP) to make the rate hike, despite recognizing the severe water shortages suffered by residents.
Ana Carolina Mora, a spokesperson for ARESEP, confirmed that ESPH submitted the petition on May 2nd. ARESEP has one month from the time of receipt to make a decision.
