Judge arrested on suspicion of attempted murder
May 8th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) The Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) has arrested a judge identified by the last names of Lizano Códoba on suspicion of attempted murder of a colleague identified as Jorge Paisano Saborio, 45. Lizano was a judge at the Pococi Criminal Court.
The arrest came after several early-morning raids in Heredia, Desamparados, Limon, and Guapiles. Three others allegedly involved in the plot were also arrested.
The attempted murder for which the judge is accused occurred in December of last year, when Paisano came under gunfire while driving to his office shortly after 7am.
According to the OIJ, two bullets entered through the rear window of the vehicle and entered the driver’s seat. Miraculously, the man was uninjured.
