May 6th, 2013 – U.S. President Barack Obama says the economic systems of the Americas must integrate if they want to compete in a 21st century world.
Obama said at a regional economic forum in Costa Rica Saturday that the countries of the Western Hemisphere need the best educational and regulatory systems.  He said if the nations do not coordinate their activities, they will fall behind other regions in the world.

In his weekly radio address, Obama said Latin America represents an “incredible opportunity” for good, middle class jobs in the United States.

The economic forum was the last stop on the president’s three-day Latin America trip, which included a visit to Mexico.  Obama talked about U.S. immigration reform, border security, and fighting the illegal drug trade.

I question that an unpopular President, like Obama or Laura, should give statements supposedly representing the people of their country, where the reality is that as in the case here in Costa Rica, only a small minority believe they are doing an adequate job in fulfilling the duties of their office as president.

In such cases, it might be a good idea to require them to present a short disclaimer as such in the introduction of their speeches, like “Please note that the following does not necessarily represent the majority of Costa Ricans (or Americans, as the case may be).

If your not smart enough to understand that without the disclaimer, do you really think the disclaimer will help you evaluate the contents of a politicians speech?

The truth is, I was just kidding to make a point.

laura and obama are nice people. love to socialize with either, but i would let neither babysit my kids let alone run a hot dog cart, much less a country. they are incompetents and that is the issue

I assume you can google presidential approval ratings. Obama’s are now at 45%. This is low for him, but normal for a president at this point in a second term, and I would hardly conclude from this that “only a small minority” believe he’s doing a good job. Plus, you might ask yourselves how much weight you want to give to presidential approval ratings. The most popular president in Costa Rica this past weekend was (drum roll please) Daniel Ortega. He’s recently polling in the 75-80% range in Nicaragua. Would you rather him run the show?

if you wish to compete globally you must support less government not more, fewer social programs not more, less nanny statism not more. look at China’s and Egypt GOE’s, Government owned enterprises, and watch their trends. China already is resembling the 60′s USSR where factories producing items at full speed were encouraged to increase production for not needed products.

Be most carefull of Barack’s rhetoric. He is prepping people’s thought process’s to accept the implied need for a world economy and governance. Sovereignty is supremely important in your nation … Run your country to support your own good and rely progressively less on other countries … Especially, the US!
