Three earthquakes shook Costa Rica over the weekend

April 29th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) The National Seismological Network (RSN) reported three felt earthquakes on Saturday, two of them on the country’s pacific coast.

 

The first quake, with a magnitude of 4.2 on the Richter scale, struck 9 kilometers east of San Rafael de Guatuso.

 

The second, which struck at 6:14am, had a magnitude of 4.1 and struck near Savegre de Aguirre in Puntarenas, at a depth of 22 km.

 

The last of Saturday’s quakes was reported at 5:07pm, with a magnitude of 3.9, 13km northwest of the area struck by the second quake.

 

There were no reports of injuries or damage.
