CIMA Hospital receives bomb threat

CIMA Hospital Escazu

April 24th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) A bomb threat was received yesterday afternoon at CIMA Hospital in Escazu, forcing staff and authorities to take emergency measures.

According to Carlos Hidalgo, press spokesman for the Ministry of Public Security, the alert was made via 911, after which authorities responded to the scene, but ultimately ruled out the presence of explosives.

Hidalgo said the cost of the false threat would have to be determined by authorities.

There is currently no information as to who made the bomb threat, or their motive.
