Two traffic officers arrested for shooting hail of bullets at driver

April 10^th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) At 6am this morning, the Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) arrested two traffic cops who are suspected of shooting at a taxi driver on the evening of November 14^th, 2012, in San Sebastian, San Jose.

The officers were arrested at the MOPT campus in Zapote.

The traffic officers are under investigation for the shooting, in addition to the fact that they did not have current firearm permits at the time of the shooting.

According to the taxi driver, on the night of the shooting, he had stopped at an intersection when he saw two traffic officers.  According to the driver, the officers did not indicate to him to pull over.  When he continued on his way, he realized the officers were firing on him.

In fear, the victim called his wife and told her to open the gate to their home so that he could reach safety.

As the man entered his home, he claims the officers continued to fire at him.  When the firing stopped, the officers allegedly entered his home and told his wife that he was a maricón (fagot).

The driver told local media that he felt lucky to be alive.
