DPRK warns foreigners to get out of South, day after Costa Rican Embassy activates evacuation protocol

north-korea-jong_2206619b-300x187

April 10th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) North Korea yesterday urged all foreign diplomats, citizens, and tourists in South Korea to evacuate, saying that the two countries are on the verge of nuclear war.

The warning comes just one day after the Costa Rican Embassy in South Korea triggered a security protocol over concerns that armed conflict may erupt between the North and South.

The protocol put in place plans to evacuate more than 300 Costa Ricans living in South Korea should conflict occur, Vice Chancellor, Carlos Roversi, said earlier this week.

Meanwhile, officials believe that North Korea will test fire a mid-range missile as early as today, one capable of striking U.S. targets in Japan and Guam.

The United States and South Korea have both raised their defense postures, as has Japan, which deployed PAC-3 missile interceptors in key positions around Tokyo in preparation for the expected North Korean missile test.

There are more than 300 Costa Ricans in South Korea, many highly-educated, which work for corporations in that country.  There are also Costa Ricans doing graduate studies in South Korea, thanks to an agreement between the two countries.

This guy Kim seems to be going past mere brinksmanship and entering the land of the crazies. Does he not understand that the US is still officially at war with N. Korea and any breaking of the truce will bring swift and massive retaliation? Even pacifist-leaning lefties like me would gladly support the US in blowing this bastard to smithereens and ending his despicable dictatorship. Kim’s a fool to underestimate the resolve of the US to take military action against N. Korea, although I and others are hoping that Obama and the brass can take him out surgically without innocent casualties. But Kim is a real dumb shit and fast fixing to be a dead dumb shit–which frankly now looks to be the only solution to this problem.

the relationship between NK, SK, USA, China, Russia, and japan is much more complex. a quick map perusal will enable you to see why NK is secure. it is secure because all other options are worse in terms of political balance. but why listen to a dumb ass poster? refer to Stratfor for history and intelligence of the region in a practical view.
