Judges ask for action over computer problems that have affected the Judiciary for nine days

April 9th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) The judges of the Full Court agreed yesterday to request a report from the Head of the Judiciary regarding the status of computer problems that have plagued the institution, shutting down the system for at least the last nine days.
Julia Varela, Judge of the Second Chamber, said that what worries her the most is the vulnerability of the system and its affect on the courts, as the judiciary is relying more and more on the electronic system, and that appropriate action needs to be taken.
Roman Solis, Judge of the First Chamber, said the problems began before Easter Holy Week.
Gilberth Armijo, a judge of the Constitutional Court, said the Judiciary’s head of information technology should explain the measures being taken to solve the problem. “Even I do not know if the problem is solved,” Armijo said.
