April 9th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) If you are a client of Banco de Costa Rica (BCR) and need to make electronic transfers, you should be aware that BCR has implemented a change beginning yesterday, requiring customers to pre-register accounts to which they plan to make electronic funds transfers.
The change applies to all bank-to-bank SINPE transfers as well as transfers to other accounts at BCR that are not your own.
In order to pre-register accounts to which you plan to make transfers, customers should go to the bank’s web site at http://www.bancobcr.com and follow the instructions on the home page. There no limits on the number of accounts which users can register.
Before registering accounts, customers should ensure that the email address associated with their BCR online account is accurate, as the process involves email confirmation.
For more information and full instructions, please visit the BCR homepage.
