About 30% of Costa Ricans will be obese by 2015

Obese, Obesity

April 1st, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), 29.8% of Costa Ricans will be obese by 2015.

The WHO said that misinformation about the causes of obesity and how to combat it is part of the problem leading to widening waistlines in Costa Rica and other Latin American countries.  The WHO says that 26% of all people living in the Americas are obese.

Obesity, a leading cause of heart disease, diabetes and hypertension amongst many other ills is beginning to overwhelm health services throughout the region, and is increasingly affecting younger people.

The Social Security Fund (CCSS) estimates that this year alone it will spend more than $6.6 million on surgeries to treat the morbidly obese.

The United States has spread their poison of fast food and sugary soft drinks to the whole earth, and this is the result of people everywhere trying to emulate what they perceive as the world’s leader. Wrold’s leader in obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and on and on…..and now the Costa Rican government is making strides to permit GMO’s! In 30 years that may well be the new cigarettes, or soft drink……

apparently according to ICR if one becomes fat one loses his head.

as to the control monkeys that want to dictate what is grown, how people choose to live, what is eaten etc. there will be a special place for you when you die and it won’t be nice.

It’s easy to play the blame game — leaders in the U.S. and here are experts at it. I don’t know of anyone who was held down while junk food was stuffed down their throats. Give me a break! The individual has the choice: eat crap and get fat or eat healthy — one should be able to decide. Unless your name is Bloomberg and he’ll make the decision for you. Nanny state here we come. And I think the 30% obesity rate in C.R. doesn’t have to wait until 2015 – look around and weep.
