Woman dies after ATV accident near Ocotal Beach
March 26th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) A Nicaraguan woman, Roberta Talavera Rodriguez, 38, died Sunday afternoon after falling from an ATV that was driven by her nephew.
The incident occurred near Playa Ocotal in Carrillo, Guanacaste.
Traffic officer Armando Meza said the ATV, which was carrying two women and the young man who was driving, lost control for unknown reasons. The woman fell from the ATV and broke her neck, killing her at the scene.
The Red Cross said that upon arriving on the scene, they found the woman deceased, lying about 100 meters from the beach.
Meza said the vehicle had no registration or technical inspection (Riteve), and as such authorities seized the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle also did not possess a drivers license.
