March 7th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) An earthquake measuring 4.2 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Puntarenas at 9:56pm last night.
The National Seismological Network said that the quake was located 36 kilometers southwest of Aguirre in Puntarenas and had a depth of 17.9 kilometers.
Shaking was also reported as being felt in Quepos.
The quake was caused by the subduction of the Cocos plate.
