Foreigner dead after ant attack
March 6th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) Skuglud Mauricio Alberto Acuna, 42, a naturalized citizen and resident of San Vicente de Moravia, drowned yesterday on a beach in Drake de Osa, Puntarenas on Monday.
According to authorities, the man was taking a beach vacation with friends for a few days. After lunch, the man decided to take a walk, and later sat in the shade of a tree to rest.
Suddenly, according to reports from local authorities, the man was under attack by ants, and ran into the water.
Once in the water, the man apparently suffered some sort of health problem, which led to his death.
It is unknown if the man’s death was caused by the ant attack or an unrelated health problem.
The man’s friends found his body on the shore of the beach after several hours of searching.
