November 30th, 2012 (InsideCostaRica.com) The National Insurance Institute (INS) will auction electrical appliances and other items on December 14th, at 9:00 am in the Auditorium on the first floor of the INS headquarters building in San Jose.
The items are salvaged appliances whose owners were reimbursed by INS after fires, floods, and other insurance claims. The items may have damage such as scratches, dents, or water damage.
Some of the examples given by INS of the items for sale include an Atlas gas stove, “in good shape,” starting at 75,000 colons. An electric stove of the same brand starts at about 150,000 colons.
Washing machines are starting at 135,000 colons, whereas a “Mabe”-brand refrigerator will start at 112,500 colons.
The institute will also be auctioning home theaters, freezers, and a cell phone.
INS said that there is no warranty on the products and they are sold as-is.
Potential buyers are free to visit and inspect the items in a storage unit, located in San Lorenzo, Desamparados, from December 7th to December 13th.
